Walking from Worcester City Centre

  • From High Street, walk towards the Cathedral.
  • After the Elgar statue, cross the street with the roundabout on your left hand side.
  • Walk along College Street until you pass the Cathedral.
  • Turn right onto College Precincts.
  • At the end of College Precincts you’ll arrive at Severn Street and the museum is in front of you.
  • Entry is through the gates next to the shop banner.

By Train

From Worcester Foregate Street
  • After walking out of the station turn left into Foregate Street and when you reach the High Street.
  • Now follow the directions of walking from Worcester City Centre.

By bus

  • Exit the Bus station through the doors towards Angel place.
  • Follow Angel Street and turn right after Subway onto The Cross and High Street.
  • Now follow the instructions as in walking from Worcester City Centre.

By Car

If you are using satellite navigation or GPS, enter postcode: WR1 2NE for the most accurate location.

From M5, Junction 7
  • At Junction 7, take the A44 exit to Worcester (S).
  • At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Whittington Road. Follow signs for Worcester City Centre.
  • At the round about, take the second exit onto London Road/A44 and stay in the left lane. Continue to follow A449, go through 2 roundabouts.
  • After 1.2 miles, turn left into Edgar Street (signposted one-way).
  • Follow the road round as it bears to your left and you will see the Museum in front of you.
  • At the T-junction turn left onto King Street and King Street pay and display car park is on your left side.
From A449 Kidderminster
  • Follow signs for Worcester A449.
  • Follow this road into Worcester for approx. 2 miles until you come to a set of T-junction traffic lights, turn to the right.
  • Turn left  into St Mary’s Street, signposted Tewkesbury A38.
  • Take the first right into Sansome Walk/A38. Follow this road to a junction.
  • At the T- Junction stay in the right lane and cross over to the lane to take you straight on at the traffic lights.
  • Follow to the next roundabout. At the roundabout stay in the right lane to go straight over into City Walls Road staying in the right lane.
  • Approaching a set of traffic lights the lane splits into two – stay in the left lane.
  • Take the road directly opposite the lights into Edgar Street (signposted one-way). Follow the road round as it bears to your left and you will see the Museum in front of you.
  • At the T-junction turn left onto King Street and King Street pay and display car park is on your left side.
From A4103 Hereford
  • Approaching the first Worcester roundabout (joining the A44), take the third exit following signs for the M5.
  • Go straight over the second and third roundabouts taking you onto the A4440. At the fourth roundabout take a slip road to the left sign-posted Worcester City Centre A38.
  • Now follow the directions below
From A44 Leominster and Bromyard
  • Take A44 to Worcester until you reach the A4440.
  • At the first roundabout sign posted Worcester City Centre A38, take the slip road to the left off the roundabout.
  • Now follow the directions below
From A449 Great Malvern and Ross
  • Take A449 Worcester. At Worcester roundabout take a right onto the A4440.
  • At the next roundabout take the slip road to the left sign-posted Worcester City Centre A38.
  • Now follow the directions below
Directions to the Museum
  • Go straight over the next small roundabout and follow that road for approx. 1 mile.
  • Approaching a set of traffic lights stay in the left lane for City Centre A38, turning to the left at the lights staying in the left lane.
  • At the next set of lights take an immediate left into Edgar Street (sign posted King Street/ One-way). Follow the road round as it bears to your left (you will see Museum in front of you).
  • At the T-junction turn left onto King Street and King Street pay and display car park is on your left side.

Parking                                                   

There is plenty of pay and display parking adjacent to the Museum, for example street parking on Severn Street and Kings Street Car Park. We offer free coach parking to pre-booked group visits. There is also free street parking for 3 hours on Severn street with a blue badge.
