A good photograph of the Freda Doughty figure ‘Boy with a Parakeet’ being formed. All the separate head, body arms, and bird are being ‘stuck up’ with liquid slip. The figure then needs supporting with struts holding the parts up while firing, the struts separated by dipping in alumuna powder which was safer to use than theold crushed flint separator.
