Adult Workshop – Draw a Leaf

WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR WATERCOLOUR SKILLS? JOIN OUR EXPERT BOTANICAL PAINTING WORKSHOP

Saturday 9th October, 10am – 1pm

In this expert workshop you will learn how to paint a detailed botanical illustration of a bramble or oak leaf. You will also learn how to draw using a technique of inscribed lines, concentrating on shading to indicate form and shape, such as the roll and curl of a leaf. 

Brian Griffiths is a full-time artist working in both painting and photography. With a degree in Fine Art, he teaches watercolour classes and takes groups out sketching in the Summer months. Brian is also a member of the Gloucestershire Society of Botanical Illustrators (GSBI) and exhibits regularly at various art galleries across the country.

You will need to bring watercolour paint and brushes (number 5 sable round is perfect), an HB pencil or a set if you have one, and HOT PRESSED watercolour paper, A4 or A5 size. We can provide these materials for use on the day at £5pp if you email us on [email protected] following your booking.

Tea and coffee provided; GoodRoots Cafe is open opposite the Museum.

Your ticket includes entry to the Museum and our award-winning Botanical Treasures exhibition on the day.
