Family Hands-On Workshop – Tea Ceremony & Clay Play

  • Friday 22 February 2019
    10.30am - 12.30pm
  • Location: Museum of Royal Worcester

Artist Fliss O’Neill invites you to celebrate the ritual of having tea, sample different teas, and make a clay pinch pot in a family creative workshop inspired by the tea ceremonies of East and West and Meadow Arts exhibition The Precious Clay.

This workshop begins with a look at the ritual of having tea together, the origins and symbolism behind a traditional tea ceremony and a chance to sample different types of tea.

Fliss will then teach you how to make a basic clay ‘pinch pot’ and help you look at ways to enhance and develop the basic form. The aim then is to collaboratively make a set of pinch pots and a clay tray that represents the family/group.
