PLUS there is plenty more fun to have before and after your Paint Your Own Pottery session in the Museum, including playing tea-parties, our children’s trail to find Pudding the factory cat, and our NEW exhibition Botanical Treasures. Under 16’s go free to the museum and as we are right next door to Good Roots cafe and less than 5 minutes walk to Worcester’s famous Cathedral, the River Severn river side walk and the high street, you really can make a day of it.

How much does Paint-Your-Own-Pot at the Museum of Royal Worcester cost?

Pre-book your 90 minute session for just £15 per table (groups of up to 6), plus the cost of the pottery item you choose (prices from £9). We’ll then discount £5 off your total spend at the end of your session.

How long will I have to wait for my pot to be ready?

Once you’ve finished painting, you will leave the item(s) in our capable hands. We will take your item, glaze it and fire it in our kiln. Colours will become richer, and your item will have a hard shiny clear surface – which is food safe should you wish to use it once you take it home.

We need 7 – 10 days to glaze and fire, and will then contact you to let you know your item is ready for collection. We can post your item back to you for an additional cost – please speak to a member of staff on the day if this is required.

Where is the Museum of Royal Worcester located?

The Museum of Royal Worcester is located in the heart of the city, close to parking and a 15 minute walk from public transport. We are also conveniently close to local cafes and restaurants, and the beautiful river Severn and famous Worcester Cathedral – so you and your family really can make a day of it when you visit the Museum of Royal Worcester.

Can we visit the museum before or after our Paint-Your-Own-Pot session?

Yes, absolutely we would love to welcome you into the museum. Under 16’s go free, and we have plenty to see and do – including playing tea-parties, our children’s trail to find Pudding the factory cat, and our NEW collaborative exhibition ‘Botanical Treasures’ between the Museum of Royal Worcester and the Gloucestershire Society for Botanical Illustration (GSBI). Artworks by the GSBI’s talented members, many of whom are RHS medal winners, will be displayed alongside the museum’s beautiful collections of porcelain and original archives.

How is this event COVID safe?

We are so excited to finally open our doors and welcome you all back to the Museum of Royal Worcester, but we know how important it is to make sure we are all safe. Therefore we ask that you wear a mask, unless you have a valid exemption, adhere to the 2 meter distancing rule for those outside of your bubble and to regularly use our sanitising stations. We offer contactless payment and ensure the museum is thoroughly cleaned. Watch our visit safely video to learn more.

We ask that if you, or anyone who you have been in contact with, shows symptoms of COVID, please stay at home and to not visit the museum. Let’s help to keep each other safe.
