As with generations of porcelain artists before them Oasis’ creative team were inspired by the Museum’s extensive collections, archives and design library, which formed a resource for the factory artists from the Company’s very formation in 1751.
Skilled adaptation and derivative designs bring the flowers, hummingbirds and butterflies from page to life in the Oasis prints and the vibrant turquoise, as seen in the Museum’s Giles collection, adds a fresh and distinctive colourway to the collection.
Clive Reeve, Design Director and Daisy Spurrier, Print Manager, were particularly drawn to the Edwards’ ‘Collection of Flowers’, the Ladies Amusement, Price Regent Pattern books and a selection of loose leaf nineteenth century paintings, for which Oasis currently hold exclusive rights.
