Ceramic Painting Workshops | Museum of Royal Worcester

Ceramic Painting Weekend – learn how to paint from a former Royal Worcester Painter.

Join former painter Jim Skerrett to learn the art of ceramic painting at this hands-on ceramic painting weekend workshop.  Over two days Jim will lead you through an opportunity to paint your own plate and learn the skills that the painters at the porcelain factory used – with no previous experience necessary this really is a ceramic painting workshop for everyone.

Your painting project will involve you learning how to layer up the paint, brush stroke and wash techniques as well as colour theory. At the end you will be able to sign your ceramic art work and then we will fire it here at the Museum for an authentic finish – just like the painters of the Worcester factories from days gone by.

The cost includes all your materials as well as tea and coffee at break times.

Pre-booked lunch box options are available on either or both days at an additional cost, please contact us at the time of your booking and AT LEAST 10 days before the workshop.

Dates: Saturday 24th June and Sunday 25th June

Times: 10am – 3pm

Cost: £96 per person

There is public parking nearby that take cash, card and use the RingGo parking app. There is also plenty of local accommodation to stay if you are traveling from further afield.

The Museum is centrally located, a short walk from Worcester High Street, the Cathedral, local cafes and the promenade of the River Severn. If you would like more information about our ceramic painting workshops, please contact us;
