Visit the Museum of Royal Worcester throughout November and December for our Christmas Paint Your Own Pottery sessions.
Sessions are 10.15, 12.15 and 14.15 Thursday to Saturday and 10.15 and 12.00 on Sundays.
Your little festive elves can choose from a wide range of ceramic shapes, including Santa mugs, egg cups, bowls, plates, figurines, bird boxes and even water bowls for the four legged friend in your life. All perfect for Christmas gifts and stocking fillers.
You’ll be surrounded by inspiration in our Ceramic Studio, plus our magically friendly staff are on hand to help. Book a table for up to six people or as individuals, then relax as you’ll have an hour and half to try out your artistic skills.
If you have time, you can also explore the Museum before or after your Paint-Your-Own-Pottery session. Discover our collections, plus we have plenty of fun activities for children including our themed Family Explorer backpacks and trails.
All pots painted before 10 December will be glazed and fired and back in time for Christmas. After this date we can’t guarantee your pot will be ready before we close for Christmas.
Prefer to paint together at home? We have PYOP Home Kits available with everything you need, then return to us for glazing and firing. PYOP Home Kits also make wonderful creative presents.
You can also give the gift of creativity with colourful embossed Gift Vouchers that can be used for Paint Your Own Pottery, in the Museum Shop, for Museum entry or experiences such as Afternoon Tea, served on Royal Worcester.
We are close to car parks, including blue badge, local café Good Roots and minutes from Worcester Cathedral, riverside walks and cycling. The City Centre High Street is full of independent shops, so you really can make a day of it.
How does it work?
You and your group will browse our range of ceramic items and make a selection. Our prices range from £9 upwards.
You’ll be seated at your own table, with a range of colours and tools to use, with staff on hand to offer inspiration and assistance if required.
Once you’ve finished painting, you will leave the items in our capable hands. We will glaze it and fire it in our kiln. Colours will become richer, and your item will have a hard shiny clear surface – which is food-safe should you wish to use it once you take it home.
We need approximately 14 days to glaze and fire (if this is for a Christmas gift please ensure you leave plenty of time), and will then contact you to let you know your item is ready for collection. We can post your item back to you for an additional cost – speak to a member of staff if this is required.
