Worcester Porcelain first London sale was in Autumn 1755 when 500 lots were sold in a three day sale at the Royal Exchange Coffee House. The advertisement states that ‘the proprietors do not send orders to and their ware by pattern and description but make London their only mark of sale, where the goods will be on view to the trade at London House in Aldersgate Street.’ The Price list gives prices in dozens with a 15 per cent discount allowed for prompt payment. There is no mention of plates or dishes. The prices seem very reasonable, for instance high footed sauce boats, three sizes 14s to 27s (a dozen). It is interesting to compare this with that given for the Bristol prototype, i.e. ‘sixteen shillings a pair’
