Peter Platt started at factory 1951, models and fruit painting. He was nicknamed Sam as there were four peters in the department and also nicknamed Abdul as he went brown in the sun. Some of the painters would remove his signature from thimbles and replace it with ‘Abdul’; some of these might well be in existence.
