The thrower is showing off by throwing shaped vases, mainly for visitors. Basically he throws hundreds of simply thrown hollow shapes which are then jolleyed into the shape moulds shown on the right. A good example of this is to be seen in the film ‘The Doctor Ordered Clay’.
