The Museum has a rich archive of pattern books, order books, drawings, engraved copper plates, employment records, photographs, film and an audio recording library, which charts factory workers’ memories from the 1930’s to the end of production. We are grateful for any additional information visitors can add.

These were working day reference books used in the porcelain factories and traces of clay remain on many of them. They are exquisitely hand drawn and painted and often annotated with reference detail and pattern numbers. 18th century records did not survive and the Prince Regent Pattern Book is the earliest in our collection, however, many books from then to the end of production survive and provide a unique design reference.
