The Museum has a rich archive of pattern books, order books, drawings, engraved copper plates, employment records, photographs, film and an audio recording library, which charts factory workers’ memories from the 1930’s to the end of production. We are grateful for any additional information visitors can add.

‘The Workers' Story’ oral history project is an audio archive of recorded memories and experiences of many of those who worked at the factory. We don’t always remember the important things about the past, it is the personal experiences that stay with us and in this way the audio recordings provide a unique glimpse into factory life from the 1930s to the late 1990s.
