Choose from woodland creatures to wild animal figurines, mugs, bowls, plates even water bowls for your pets. You’ll be surrounded by inspiration in our Ceramic Studio, plus our friendly staff are on hand to help. Book a table for your group of six and then relax as you’ll have an hour and half to try out your artistic skills.
If you’d like to you can also explore the museum before or after your Paint Your Own Pottery session. Explore our collections, the NEW Botanical Treasures exhibition, plus we have plenty of fun activities for children.
Under 16’s go free, as well as discounted prices for concessions. We are located close to car parks, including blue badge, local cafe Good Roots and less than 5 minutes walk to Worcester’s famous Cathedral, river side walk and high street, so you really can make a day of it.

Paint-Your-Own-Pottery at Museum of Royal Worcester
- Bring your booking confirmation with you on the day
- You’ll be seated at your own table, with a range of colours and tools to use, with staff on hand to offer inspiration and assistance if required
- Groups of up to 6 per table for a 90 minute slot
- Choose your pot and get painting
- We will glaze and fire your pot
- We’ll contact you when your pot is ready. At busy times this can take up to 10 working days.
How much does Paint-Your-Own-Pot at the Museum of Royal Worcester cost?
Book your 90 minute session for just £15 per table (groups of up to 6), plus the cost of the pottery item you choose (prices from £9). We’ll then discount £5 off your total spend at the end of your session.
When will my pot be ready?
Once you’ve finished painting, we will glaze and fire your painted pot it in our kiln. The colours will become richer, and your item will have a hard shiny clear surface – which is food safe should you wish to use it once you take it home.
We need 7 – 10 days to glaze and fire, and will then contact you to let you know your item is ready for collection. We can post your item back to you for an additional cost – please speak to a member of staff on the day if this is required.

Located in the heart of the city, the Museum of Royal Worcester is close to parking, including blue badge, and a 15 minute walk from public transport. We are also conveniently close to local cafes and restaurants, the high street and the famous Worcester Cathedral.
Can I visit the museum after my session?
Yes, absolutely we would love to welcome you into the museum. Under 16’s go free, and we offer concessions. As well as our collections there is plenty of children’s activities, plus our NEW collaborative exhibition ‘Botanical Treasures’ between the Museum of Royal Worcester and the Gloucestershire Society for Botanical Illustration (GSBI).
Is this event COVID safe?
We ask that you wear a mask, unless you have a valid exemption, adhere to the 2 meter distancing rule for those outside of your bubble and to regularly use our sanitising stations. We offer contactless payment and ensure the museum is thoroughly cleaned. Watch our visit safely video to learn more.

When is the Museum of Royal Worcester open?
We are open Thursday to Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sundays 10am – 4pm.
During Worcestershire School Holidays (May – October) we are open 7 days a week.
