A member of our Collections Support team had a go at recreating the aesthetic teapot! What do you think?

The aesthetic teapot, museum object number 2561, is modelled with one arm as the spout (with two thumbs) and one arm as the handle. The cover is in the form of a double-sided head: male on one side (with a sunflower), and female on the other.

This teapot was designed as a jibe at Oscar Wilde and followers of the Aesthetic Movement, who believed that by surrounding yourself with beautiful objects, you too became beautiful.

Have a go at re-creating this teapot, or go back to see what else there is to choose from.
