Clive and Daisy’s work started in the Museum of Royal Worcester’s archive, including its historic design library. As with generations of porcelain artists before them, the project’s designer found rich seams of inspiration in books dating back to the eighteenth century.
Dr. Wall’s Worcester Porcelain factory was the first in the world to create a design on a ceramic surface using transfer printing and it brought instant success to the Worcester industry. Two hundred and sixty years later, Oasis fashion brand used the very same books to inspire the printed fabric used in this fashion collection.
As well as their enthusiasm for the Museum’s design library, the creative team were influenced by the style of the 1940’s factory girls.
