Join us for a free all-ages celebration event with creative activities, tea-tasting and refreshments on Saturday 16 September, 11am-3pm.

• Meet teapot sculpture artists, Ron Thompson and Julie Edwards of Planet Art and take part in hands-on clay activities

• 12:00pm – Speeches and ribbon-cutting with the Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Louis Stephen

• 12:30pm – Talk by Oral History producer Julia Letts on ‘Anecdotes from the Archives: stories and memories from former Royal Worcester workers’

• 14:00pm – Music and performance by Balbir Singh of Balbir Singh Dance Company, as part of Worcester Mela Melting Pot project

• Find out about a new public art commission celebrating Worcester’s porcelain heritage on the former Royal Porcelain Works factory site

• Meet Worcester Life Stories team, who will be sharing photographs and memories from Know Your Place Worcester, the interactive web platform. Share your stories for generations to come

• Say hello to Worcester Mela team and learn about their new ‘The Melting Pot’ project, with Balbir Singh Dance Company, co-creating a performance piece with local communities about shop floor stories at Worcester’s factories

• Author Colin Millett will be signing his new book on Royal Worcester painter Harry Davis
