We’re thrilled to bring you another season of fascinating online talks to keep the winter blues at bay. Curl up with a warm drink and join us as we explore art, food, and history with three brilliant speakers:
Tuesday 2nd December, 6pm – Patricia Ferguson, former Curator of the British Museum and the V&A, and Honorary Adviser on Ceramics for the National Trust, will dazzle us with the ornate world of English Rococo with her talk ‘Exploring the Rococo through Chelsea’s Gold Anchor Vases.’
Wednesday 21st January, 6pm – Food historian Ivan Day will tempt your taste buds as he reveals the history of ceramic ice pails and the frozen delights they once held.
Wednesday 4th March, 6pm – Food historian Dr. Neil Buttery and ceramic expert Paul Crane FSA will close the series with a thought-provoking look at the dark history of sugar and the slave trade, and how it influenced porcelain production in the 18th century.
Engaging, surprising, and full of stories that connect the past to our present—this is a winter series you won’t want to miss! Links to book will be available soon — so keep an eye out for updates!
