We’re delighted to have in stock signed copies of local author Colin Millett’s new book  ‘Ladies of the Porcelain which celebrates the outstanding work and contributions of women modellers and painters whose amazing skills and workmanship ensured Royal Worcester’s deserved world-wide reputation and legacy.

Sally Wood, a former painter of ‘Worcester fruit’ at the factory who has written the Foreword and contributed her own personal memories of working at the factory, said: ‘At last. The story of the ladies’ long overdue recognition, dedication and hard work is told!’’

“What makes this publication special are the detailed biographies of well-known ladies and many others who are maybe not as well known… There are full colour illustrations of the items they produced, to admire and showcase how gifted all these ladies were.” Pamela Stone, Museum staff.

Colin is a collector of Worcester porcelain who lives in Bromsgrove and has written two previous books on the subject:

A Collector’s Tale‘ – a personal account of how he developed his passion for Worcester porcelain

The Wonder of Worcester‘ – an illustrated history of Worcester porcelain 1751 – 2008

He also gives guided tours of the Museum and illustrated talks to groups; to find out more about talks click here including a new talk on ‘Ladies of the Porcelain’.

All of his books are available at the Museum Shop, each copy signed by the author.
