Celebrate 2026 Year of the Horse!

Worcestershire Chinese Association and educational charity Engage with China are delighted to team up again with the Museum of Royal Worcester and Royal Porcelain Works, to celebrate 2026 Year of the Horse in style.

Worcester’s popular free Chinese New Year celebrations are taking place on Sunday 22 February, 11am – 3pm at the Museum of Royal Worcester and Royal Porcelain Works.

Museum of Royal Worcester will offer a reduced museum entry fee of £3.50 pp (Under 2s free) for a day of creative activities. Book in advance

Family friendly activities are on offer for all ages, including arts and crafts inspired by Chinese New Year traditions, calligraphy, origami and lantern making. Chinese tea-tasting, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, the traditional Lion Dance in Severn Street and Chinese musical performances at Henry Sandon Hall.

Our Paint-Your-Own-Pottery studio will be open for adults and children to paint a memento of Chinese New Year to bring good fortune and ‘rebirth’ such as horses, lions and pandas (Additional charge). Our full programme will develop over the next few months, so sign up to hear updates.

There is a Quiet Hour at the Museum from 10am-11am for visitors with neuro-diversity or health conditions who would benefit from participating when it is less busy.

We look forward to welcoming the whole of our Worcestershire community on Sunday 22 February 2026 to celebrate Chinese New Year in Worcester.

Find out more about the Museum and our opening times or find us. Please note this is a very busy event attracting 2,000 people last year. Please consider walking, cycling or using public transport.

Worcestershire Chinese Association was established by Chairman Frankie Tsang in 1999 as a non-profit, voluntary and community organisation to bridge language and understanding between Chinese and local communities.
