We’re delighted to create our first ‘Pop-Up Museum’ to bring creative activities inspired by our collection outdoors into the local community. This project has been made possible by an award from Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Museum Director Sophie Heath said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded this grant and want to extend our thanks to the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery! The Pop-up Museum is an exciting way to introduce the Museum to our local communities in a playful and fun way, offering creative ceramic and craft activities inspired by our collections. The activities on offer will be created by local artists and appeal to the young and old.”
Chair of Trustees Sir Michael Perry GBE said: “Thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery and its players we will be able to launch our new Pop-Up Museum in 2021 as Covid-19 restrictions ease, which will help more people get to know this exceptional heritage of national importance that is on their doorstep.”
